Services
The Coeliac Society provides valuable, personal assistance to members via the Support Centre based in Victoria and Support Groups who meet regularly in three regions - Hobart, Launceston and Northwest. Please visit the What's on in Tasmania? page to find out more.
The Society provides the latest information on research sourced from expert medical professionals, and positive ways of adapting to a gluten free lifestyle which may initially seem overwhelming.
When you phone The Support Centre you will find our volunteers and staff are up to date on all acceptable foods and can answer questions and offer encouragement, reassurance and suggestions.
The Coeliac Society acts as an advocate to raise awareness to the general public, ensuring the highest possible standard of food labelling is in place for Australians suffering from coeliac disease.
Many manufacturers and caterers rely on the Society to promote their products and services to gluten free consumers. Therefore, members are the first to know of new products and services available.
The Society, having no commercial interests, presents a balanced view on latest innovations and developments while supporting research projects working towards non-dietary treatment of Coeliac Disease.
Our publications are based on the latest research, including relevant topics that relate to coeliac disease.
Upon joining, members will receive a comprehensive handbook, ingredient list, recipe book and annual subscription to The Australian Coeliac Magazine (delivered quarterly).

Testimonials:
Dr Sue Shepherd, accredited practicing dietitian says – “When I was first told of the great news that The Gluten Free Travel Guide was going to be written,I was thrilled. As a dietitian working in the area of coeliac disease for a verylong time, I have seen first hand the struggle many have faced to successfully follow their gluten free diet outside their own kitchens. Travelling can seeman almost impossible task to many. Concerns about food availability, language barriers, insufficient awareness of safe food production methods, are just some of the many potential causes of anxiety for a food intolerant traveller.
The Gluten Free Travel Guide really does take away such uncertainties and difficulties.”
To the Coeliac Society:
I just wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to CSV for all the effort put into the Gluten Free Travel Guide. I recently returned from a trip to Europe visiting 13 countries in 43 days. The level of GF awareness ranged from good in Finland, Estonia, Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary to average and just fair in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
I found the Travel Guide an invaluable companion that enabled me to purchase GF products and eat out with confidence. I have no hesitation is recommending the Travel Guide as a ‘must have’ to any Coeliac intending to travel overseas. No longer should anyone feel apprehensive with this Guide in their bag. Thanks again and well done!
Regards.
